The young man working the pro shop was fantastic! He took the time to answer my questions and increased my knowledge of the course. The clubhouse is a little outdated on the outside but looks and feels great on the inside. The driving range is good, I just wish there were more bays to hit from as it was completely full after my round. A chipping green allows for 80 yard shots, along with a practice sand bunker that was in tremendous shape (rare in Utah). The practice facilities at Glen Eagle are fantastic! The one putting green is large and allows for a variety of different shots. The course is wide open (in classic link style fashion) with holes 16 and 17 being the exception. Water is in play on almost every hole but the rolling fairways are extremely wide. The park in the summer has more than 5 miles (8.0 km) of equestrian trails, non-motorized boating, horseshoes, picnicking, swimming, water slide, volleyball, fishing, 18-hole disc golf course, and a zip line. In response to a poll concerning disposition of the land in the local newspaper, the Land Board voted to set aside the property to be managed as Eagle Island State Park. The grazing land where the park stands was purchased by the state in 1929 and used as a penitentiary farm until 1977, when the site was turned over to the Idaho Department of Lands. The park's recreational facilities include swimming beach, picnic area, equestrian trails, and a water slide.
